On The Ground: Malawi Day 1

Okay so I am sitting here at Capital City Baptist Church in Lilongwe, Malawi uploading some pictures to TPC for service tomorrow. Today was our first work day on the ground here in Malawi. Actually, we only got to work for about 3 hours.

We had an early morning orientation with the leaders of Adziwa (the project title in the Kauma village). Adziwa simply means "God Knows" in Chichewa, the language of Malawi. Adziwa is a project aimed at providing families who have adopted aids orphans with adequate housing, schooling, business, and life sustenance.

Our day got off to a late start after lunch because on our way to Adziwa, we had to stop and get a LOT of bottled water because it is so warm here and the African sun is incredibly intense. Needless to say, as our luck would have it, our bus got a flat tire in the parking lot of the store. Yup...so we had to wait a few for that. So, by the time we got working, we only had a 3 hour work day, and I only had about 1 1/2 hours to shoot in Adziwa because I had to get to WIFI somewhere to start this slow upload of images to TPC for tomorrow's service.

At any rate...we have limited internet so stay tuned and I will update as I can.
